We have a robust pipeline of interesting highway management, flood risk management and public realm design projects. As such, we are looking for ambitious graduates to join our dynamic team.

ABOUT THE JOB:

The role would suit a Civil or Environmental Engineering masters graduate or similar, who wants to be involved in interesting and challenging projects, whilst being supported to achieve their professional ambitions.

As a Graduate Engineer you will be exposed to all elements of the business and all stages of projects. If you want, you can specialise straight away in either our Flood Risk, Highway Management or Civil Engineering Design teams. Alternatively, you can gain experience across the teams and specialise down the line.

Unlike in large consultancies, you will get involved in business practice such as business development, client meetings, project management and site supervision early in your career – all essential competencies for chartership. We have training agreements with various professional institutions including the ICE, CIHT and CIWEM. You will be mentored by a Chartered Engineer, and your experience tailored to meet your professional objectives.

Our working environment is honest, supportive and fun. You will be able to develop your technical expertise through learning from senior members of the team as well as your fellow graduates.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Applicants will have a master’s in civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent).

ABOUT THE JOB:

The role would suit a chartered Senior/Principal Civil Engineer, with at least 5 years’ highway design experience.

We have an exciting pipeline of projects including high profile public realm schemes and highway (fence to fence) redevelopment. You will be expected to take a leadership role on these interesting and challenging design projects and mentor our talented and ambitious team of Design Engineers.

As a company we seek out interesting design opportunities and are never afraid to innovate and do things differently. We need a technically sound Senior/Principal Engineer to ensure the technical aspects of the design process are managed and to deliver these projects to the exceptional standards that our clients have come to expect from Metis.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

ABOUT YOU:

We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic Senior Engineers, with a real interest in sustainable design. Candidates must have:

  • Outstanding technical ability and experience in engineering design principles.
  • Specific senior experience in either highways and/or public realm design.
  • A desire to innovate and produce sustainable, environmentally attractive and functional public space design.
  • A proven ability to lead project teams and effectively liaise with clients and stakeholders.
  • A passion for mentoring junior members of the team to reach their full potential.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

As an Engineer you will be exposed to all elements of the business from project and client management, through technical delivery, to team mentoring. Your primary focus will be delivering civil design elements of schemes including; flood risk, SuDS, highways, public realm and cycle/pedestrian.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Applicants will have a master’s in civil engineering (or equivalent) and be working towards obtaining chartership.

ABOUT YOU:

We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic engineers, with a real interest in sustainable design . Candidates must have:

  • Sound technical ability and experience in engineering design principles
  • A desire to produce excellent, environmentally attractive and functional public realm design
  • The ability to integrate into a team and liaise with clients and stakeholders
  • A demonstrable appetite for learning and developing your career further
  • Competency with Microsoft Office and Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Additional skills that would be beneficial include:

  • Capability in drainage and SuDS design
  • Highway and/or public realm design experience
  • Competency in Microdrainage applications
