THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Principal Engineer (Civils Design) you will be exposed to all elements of the business. Your primary focus will be on expanding Metis’ design capability across our flood risk and highways businesses, to enable us to provide a more comprehensive public realm design service to our clients. You will take the role of Technical Lead for design, covering both highways and flood risk projects, and will be heavily involved in developing our business in this area.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Applicants will be a chartered engineer with at least 5 years’ relevant experience.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking engineers that are interested in developing a career in Civil and Environmental Engineering, with the skillset to thrive in a small and dynamic team.  Candidates must have:

  • A proven capability in civil engineering design
  • Highway, and or, flood risk design experience in the public realm
  • A demonstrable appetite for learning and developing your career further
  • Sound technical ability in engineering design principles

  • Ability to work within a team and provide management and technical guidance to graduates
  • Competency with relevant design software

The salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications/experience. You will be part of our Flood Risk Management team and involved in all elements of our offering including; flood risk mitigation schemes, sustainable drainage design, flood risk modelling and strategy development.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

You should hold a relevant Hydrology, Engineering or Environmental degree or masters level qualification. Specialist Flood Risk foundation degrees and similar graduates will also be considered.

Candidates may be fresh graduates or have some years relevant experience.

You must have obtained, or be about to obtain, a Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a minimum, or expected grade, of 2:1 (or equivalent).
